Casting and location selection
Forming artistic direction for wardrobe and overall aesthetic
the original served as a heavy inspiration for this video and you’ll see multiple elements mirrored in this version
editing, choreography and blocking, and more
maintained the original editing style - numerous sectioned cuts, casual and lax movement with less calculated structure
pulled from original choreography to page homage to the style and blocking choices (keeping original grooves and grouped formations)
applied modern elements (selfie camera mode scenes) but still editing to fit the overall mood

wardrobe, location, and graphics
selected an industrial location with subtle coloring
quirky text graphics throughout the videos (marquee message in opening, name plates)
faded, modeling sequence in the beginning
colorful, quirky wardrobe choices while still being comfortable enough to dance
casting and intention
i was able to utilize and feature an all female cast of dancers
creating a fun, goofy, light-hearted environment to reflect the video and song
i utilized a good amount of B roll that didn’t feature any dancing in order to highlight each cast member’s personality and our interactions
